Meet Lorelle Crawford, model, psychology student, and sex-positive content creator.
How old are you?
What agency are you with?
When did you first start modelling?
Fourteen. I was a baby. Like so, so young. It was nine years ago. I can’t believe that actually, it really feels like so long ago. It’s almost a decade. And that’s all I’ve known; it’s so weird.
Where were you born?
I was born in South Australia.
Where do you live now?
Melbourne. This is my seventeenth home that I’ve lived in. I’ve lived all over Australia, literally in every state except Tasmania. I’m pretty settled in Melbourne, though. I’ve been here three years and I can see myself being here for a while.
What do you do to relax?
I like doing tactile things; things with my fingers. I like to paint a little bit, or cross-stitch. I like to pat my dog. It makes me feel very grounded.
What do you do outside of modelling?
I’m studying psychology and I have a little YouTube channel. It’s sex ed for people our age. I feel like we really missed out on a lot of the important things. A lot of us were taught abstinence only. And all that stuff that just doesn’t really work. I like to talk about pleasure and dispelling myths because there’s so much misinformation spread about sex. It’s such a taboo subject, so we all learn old wives tales. Like the myth about the virginity and the hymen breaking and all that bullshit, which is so dangerous in how it impacts our society and women.
What song always puts you in a good mood?
I don’t know about always; depression is real. I feel like when I’m in a bad mood I like to ride it out. But to enhance a good mood I like ‘Diva’ by Beyonce. Or ‘Ratchet Commandments’ by Tink. Just really fun, bad-arse female songs.
What is your skin care routine?
It’s hectic. It’s been a longtime of me getting to know my skin. I use a really gentle cleanser, like Cetaphil. I’ve only recently learned how important toning is. I use one that has got AHAs and BHAs in it, so every day you’re chemically exfoliating your skin a little bit and it’s awesome. I always put on a serum and a moisturiser, and then sunscreen. It’s a five-step process every morning. And then at night I always put on something like a really rich hyaluronic acid all over my face. Hydration is key.
What’s your go-to beauty product?
Have you heard of Fluff? I’m wearing it right now. It’s all I ever wear: to castings, out to the club with a smokey eye. It’s the best, it’s just me but hotter. Not even a plug, they’re not paying me!
Do you have a signature scent?
They call me Smelly Relly for a reason! But I try to cover up that natural musk with like Paco Rabanne One Million. Everyone used to wear that in grade ten, like every hot dude. And now I’m like, ‘I am the hot dude’. And I also love mixing it with that Hello Kitty aerosol shit. Strippers wear it; it’s so yummy.
What do you do to workout or stay fit?
I love Muay Thai. I haven’t been to the gym in a while but I like Muay Thai if I’m feeling energetic and ready to kick some shit. But otherwise pilates, stretching, or walking. I just go by what my body says, because I think sometimes it can be really hard if you’re on a regime and then you burn out.
What’s your healthiest habit?
My healthiest habit is taking my anti-depressants every morning.
What’s the quality that you most like about yourself?
I’m really kind.
What is a quality that you most like about others?
Authenticity. I feel like I can always tell when someone is being inauthentic in what they’re saying or what they’re putting out into the world. I really value when someone is real with me.
Can you finish this sentence. To me wellness is…
Singing in the kitchen. I was doing that yesterday and I was like, ‘Huh, this is wellness’. I think that’s my answer for that.
